Synopsis:
It is summertime in a blue-collar, marginal district of a city in the South of Spain. Tano, a teenager currently serving a sentence in a juvenile reform center, is given a 48-hour leave to attend his brother's wedding. Together with his best friend Richi, Tano plans to enjoy his 48-hour pass to the limit, doing all the things he is normally prohibited from doing. He gets drunk, takes drugs, steals, has sex and hangs out with his buddies. He feels free and exerts that freedom with all the force and audacity of a teenager. By the end of his 48-hour pass, Tano has also witnessed the collapse of all the things he takes for granted in his life: the neighborhood, his family, friends and loved-ones - everything is somehow different for him. More than just two days of freedom, Tano's leave turns out to be a journey into maturity.

This is a movie, not quite a documentary one, but with many of its aspects. It fantastic fabula shows reaction of people when suddenly a giant volcano in Yellowstone national park explodes, leaveing them to fend for them selfs the best way they know, while the rest of the world tries to cope with ashes and dimmed atmosphere which are destroying their crops, limiting flights and transportation, and eventualy killing their populations.

Ein atemberaubendes Historienepos, das seinesgleichen sucht, in dem Frederic March als facettenreicher Held wieder einmal seine ganze unglaubliche Bandbreite ausspielen kann.
Christopher Kolumbus möchte unbedingt den Seeweg nach Indien erschließen. Um die Reise finanzieren zu können, muss er die spanische Königin Isabella vom Nutzen der Expedition überzeugen. Doch da niemand seine Ideen ernst nimmt, vergehen Jahre, bis er sein Vorhaben in die Tat umsetzen kann.

Alien Trespass (2009)
Synopsis:
The story begins in 1957 in the star-filled skies above California's Mojave Desert. It is a special night for noted astronomer Ted Lewis, who is preparing a special dinner for his beautiful, adoring wife Lana to celebrate their wedding anniversary. In another part of town, Tammy, a waitress at small local diner with big plans for the future, looks out her window and is excited to see a shooting star, which she takes as a good sign for her dreams. But, what Dr. Lewis and Tammy assume is a shooting star, is really an alien spaceship. The fiery ball hurtles toward earth and crash-lands on a butte in the desert. The only witnesses are teens Dick and Penny who are necking in a nearby lover's lane. A tall, metallic alien named Urp emerges from the craft unharmed, alarmed to discover that the monstrous Ghota, who was also on board, has escaped. The menacing one-eyed creature's unquenchable appetite could mean the end of civilization as we know it. Urp is the only one who knows how to stop.
