Barsaat (1949)

Synopsis:
An essay on love. For Gopal and Pran, two close friends, love means two very different things. Gopal thinks it is like the wind, the clouds, always passing and never turning back. For Pran, it is unflinching devotion, a craving that consumes the soul.
For one, beauty and love are evanescent, they will fade.
For the other, it is immortal, it is sacrifice. Who is right? Two simple village belles, Neelam and Reshma help find the truth.
This film, made more than half a century ago, raises disturbing questions that are perhaps much more relevant in today's age of porn and free sex.
