Rohtenburg (2006)

Synopsis:
In Germany, as graduate student Katie Armstrong researches cannibal killer Oliver Hagen for her thesis, she becomes obsessed with her subject and ultimately plunges into a lifestyle similar to Hagen's and the thousands of people like him. Starring Keri Russell. Rated R for strong aberrant violent/sexual content and disturbing images.

This is inspired by the True Crime case of German cannibal Armin Meiwes, who butchered and cannibalized computer programmer Bernd-Jurgen Brandes after putting on necrobabes.com an advertisement "I'm looking for a normally built young man between 18 and 25 years for a real slaughter and consumption". Brandes was willing to be eaten, wanted his penis to be cut off and eaten. Meiwes did exactly what he wanted and they both eaten it. Then Meiwes stabbed Brandes in the neck and kept his body to be cooked and eaten pieces by pieces for the weeks to come. By the time the cops catched up to Meiwes, he had eaten most of Brandes. The website in which Meiwes first met Brandes was ultimately banned in Germany due to a lawsuit in which Meiwes successfully argued that the film slandered his deeds and made him look bad.
