Melinda Uy (Sharon Cuneta) is a half-Filipino, half-Chinese struggling mother to four children married to a full-Chinese blood man. Her family was believed to bring curse to Olive's (ZsaZsa Padilla) family. Because of this, Melinda's was not accepted by the Uy family as one of their members. Melinda's struggling as a mother began when she has nothing else to do but to strive more and work more to win the Uy family's approval. This caused her to leave one of her children, Stephanie, to Olive's care. Olive is Melinda's ambitious and evil sister-in-law.
But of course, all winnings has its major prize. Despite the success that Melinda has gotten into years later, she will try to win the heart of her prodigal daughter Stephanie (Heart Evangelista) who believed she was abandoned by her mother. Along the way, Melinda will meet lots of people who will make her character even stronger and more powerful than ever.
